Online HS English Courses and Electives

We offer core and elective English courses for 9-12. Our courses are designed with rigor and engagement in mind.  All core classes have the option of honors and some electives are available in honors as well.  Families have the option to customize the texts and/or modules for the core classes for an additional fee.  Core courses adhere to the Florida B.E.S.T. standards.

Courses are completed on the Google Classroom platform.  All work will be graded by an assigned teacher.  Formative and summative assignments are completed asynchronously.  Discussion  Based Assessments are scheduled by students and completed over the phone with the teacher.  

Students will have access to their course(s) at anytime during their registered semester(s); however, teachers will follow the academic calendar and hours of operation. Help sessions and discussions must be scheduled during hours of operation. Enrollment in courses is based on semesters (fall, spring, and summer).   Please review our full academic calendar and virtual attendance policy in the Cypress Academy Handbook.

Part-time Student Tuition:  Standard Course Curriculum is $800 for 1 credit courses and $400 for .5 credit courses.  Custom Course Curriculum is $1000 for 1 credit courses. (Elective courses cannot be customized.) One credit courses must be completed by the end of two consecutive semesters.  Half credit courses must be completed in one semester. 

Full-time Student Tuition:  Full-time students must take a minimum of four credits per semester. Math courses are offered through a third party platform but monitered by your Cypress Academy teacher. Transfer students must provide transcripts from home education or former school(s). Please see the Handbook for additional information regarding graduation requirements.

Additional Fees:  Once we have completed our consultation call, I can follow-up with any additional fees for curriculum resources.  For example, certain audiobooks, films, podcasts, etc. may not be accessible for free on the Internet. If you want to avoid additional fees, we can discuss options for trimming down the cost of texts.
